The informal economy has the potential to provide a point of first entry into the labour market for many unemployed South Africans and provide employment opportunities in the context of a formal economy that is not large enough and not growing fast enough to absorb the many South Africans in need of employment this be the opportunity for youth to hone their skills, gain relevant experience that will finally contribute to the career path they wish to follow in the future? social media opportunities mediaSouth Africa

Participation in the informal sector is a perfect space and platform to build one’s personal brand and ultimately have a solid brand communication strategy. Brand communication is all about building and maintaining a brand's reputation by creating a consistent message and image.

In the age of social media being intentional about building your reputation and personal brand becomes easier as the cost of using various brand communication channels is cheaper.

This could also mean that if most youth could begin their career path earlier before entering college or university, that may increase their changes of employability and ensuring that they enroll for a study course that is aligned with their desired career goals and pathway.Brand Communication
